About Us

CCV began as an e-mail list-serv in 2005. Originally utilized as a bulletin to feature conservative candidates and issues in the 2006 election, the list grew to become an outlet for Conservatives in Chatham County who wanted to openly discuss imposing regulation by county government. The readers began meeting weekly. CCV announced their formation as an education based organization through a press release in December of 2006. In 2007, CCV led the education effort to defeat the Land Transfer Tax. The proposal lost in a record turnout election.

In February of 2007, CCV formally aligned with Americans For Prosperity. AFP is an organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state and federal levels. The grassroots members of AFP advocate for public policies that champion the principles of entrepreneurship and fiscal and regulatory restraint. Through our association with AFP, we are provided with resources for our monthly community meetings and access to policy research specific to Chatham County.

The CCV Motto

The Chatham Conservative Voice will provide a truthful and positive voice within our county for conservative principles and liberty as defined by the founding fathers. We will educate, we will be informed, we will be effective and represented in every election. Our mission is to protect our freedoms.
